The remains of the late Patrick Abayomi Pedro were committed to mother earth at a private cemetery at Ipaja after a Requiem Mass at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Igbogila, Ipaja Deanery of the Archdiocese of Lagos, Friday 5th March. Late Yomi Pedro passed away on Wednesday 10th February. He was aged 73. The Concelebrated Mass featured Rev. Fr. Andrew Okpanachi Edogbo, Cssp, former Parish Priest, Darlington, (Abeokuta Diocese), Joachim Erahbor SDV, Associate Priest, Samosa Ibilor, Victor Koonoo and the Parish Priest, Very Rev. Frs. Lawrence Nwaneri, Cssp as the Chief celebrant. Fr. Koonoo in his homily described late Yomi Pedro as one of the pillars of St. Patrick’s, a man of honour and integrity noting however that he never missed his daily early morning mass in his lifetime with his better half. The homilist observed that the deceased was very reliable and a God given asset to his family and ever ready to assist people in his own little ways.

The late Yomi Pedro attended Ijebu Ode Grammar School for his school certificate; he was an alumnus of the Obafemi Awolowo University and the University of Benin respectively. A former parishioner of the St. Agnes Catholic Church, Maryland, late Yomi Pedro relocated to Ipaja in 1999 and joined the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Igbogila, Ipaja. Until his death he was the Chief Executive Officer and Major Distributor of vitafoam product at Ipaja and its environs. Highlight of the funeral mass was the clustering round the casket of the deceased by some of his classmates at the Ijebu Ode Grammar School led by Rev. Oshisanya to render the school anthem and to remind themselves of the good old days. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Yetunde Frances Pedro, patroness, St. Patrick’s chapter of the M.O.D (Man of Order and Discipline), children and grandchildren
