The Catholic Bishop of Yola Di-
ocese, Bishop Stephen Dami
Mamza Monday laid the foun-
dation for building of eighty six housing
unit for internally displaced person’s
IDP in the state.
The ceremony which took place at
Jambi_lamba in Geire Local Govern-
ment was done with some Reverend
fathers in executing the project, Bishop
Dami said building the housing unit by
the church is to assist the internally dis-
placed person’s who have been camping
for over five years with the church so
that they can settle down permanently.
The Catholic Bishop pointed out that
the village of the targeted person’s are
still”unsafe due to activities of insur-
gence stressing that it is his hope and
prayers that before the next rainy season
they will be relocated to the housing
unit.
The Clergy further said each of the
eighty six housing unit each blocks will
accommodate two household attribut-
ing the intervention to missio organiza-
tion based in Germany.
Bishop Dami Mamza who described
missio”as the strongest partners that
have been supporting Yola Diocese for
the past fifty years”and appealed to indi-
viduals and organisations to support the
church to enable it complete the project
in time.
Speaking at the occasion,the ward
head of the area Mallam Dauda Tizhe
thanked Bishop Mamza for interven-
ing on the plight of internally dis-
placed persons and called on people in
the community to co-exist peacefully.
Mr Christan Ileagu who is the con-
tractor handling the project said the
work will cover forty three blocks of
eighty six semi detached housing unit.
Catholic Yola Diocese have been
camping and assisting the displaced
person’s since insurgents started at-
tacking communities in the state five
years ago.
