eventy women abducted by

Book haram in the past in Ad-
amawa state have received a

cash donation of fifty thousand

six hundred naira each from the Catho-
lic Bishop of Yola Dioceses Bishop Ste-
phen Dami Mamza through a generos-
ity of a journalist from Europe.

Making the cash presentation to the
seventy beneficiaries, on Wednesday
at saint Pius Catholic church, Shuwa

of Madagali local Government, Bish-
op Dami Mamza charged the women

to make good use of resource to better

their lives and that of their families.

He explained that the gesture is com-
ing from a journalist, Wolfgang Bauer

from Europe who came to saint Theresa
IDP camp two years ago and was touch
by the trauma the victims of insurgent
are passing through decided to make
an appeal in his country on behalf of
the abducted women to support them.
Bishop Dami Mamza further said
the church with the support of justice
development and peace commission
carefully selected the women thirty
five from Muslim side while thirty five

from Christian side making the total of
seventy beneficiaries.
Bishop Mamza appreciate the work

of journalism all over the world par-
ticularly those who come to Adama-
wa urged journalists in the country to

maintained the spirit.
He then called on beneficiaries to
complement this gesture by putting the
money into good use or meaningful
venture like farming among others.
The Catholic Bishop of Yola Dioceses

also appeal to members of the commu-
nities where the women are reintegrat-
ed to continue to treat them kindly and

live in peace with one another irrespec-
tive of their religion or tribal affiliation.

Some of the abducted women Aisha
Abubakar, Esther Bitrus who narrated

their pathetic stories from their abduc-
tors said some of them managed to es-
cape while some were released thanked

Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza for as-
sisting them since after the insurgency,

described him as a true servant of God
and pray God to continue to bless and
strengthen him.
