Shortly after restoring the sight of the blind man at Bethsaida, Jesus asked his disciples, “Who do people say I am?” After getting several answers from them – ‘John the Baptist’, ‘Elijah’, ‘one of the prophets’. He asked Peter, “Who do you say I am?” Peter replied, “You are the Messiah.” There is always more to know about Christ. BETTY AMUKPO further engages some children on God’s revelation as she asks, “Who is Jesus to you?” Their responses:
‘Jesus is a person of action, care and love’
Jesus is the son of God, equal with God, and with authority from the father (Luke 22:70). Jesus is a person of action, care and love. He makes demand for me to be faithful, to be honest, to be just and emulate Him. He says to me “You are my body, you are my child and I love you no matter what”. (Matthew 28:18).That’s what Jesus is to me.

Jesus is my God, Lord and Personal Saviour. He is my Best friend (Matthew 29:24). Jesus is my Father. He is my Redeemer (Job 19:25). He is my Teacher (John 3:2). He is my Advocate (1John 2:1). He is the Author and Finisher of my Faith (Hebrew 12:2). He is the Shepherd of my Soul (John 10:11). He is my beloved Bridegroom (John 3:29). Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, and Jesus is my all and all (John 3:16).

‘Jesus is an excellent authority who upholds truth and justice’
Jesus to me is an excellent authority who upholds the truth and justice. He is a pacifier, the peacemaker, who came with the word of truth to the world. Matthew 28:18 said this about Jesus Christ, ‘Jesus came and spoke to them, saying’, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.”

‘Jesus Christ is the saviour of the world’
“This is my son, the beloved with whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:17). Jesus Christ is the saviour of the world. As we come unto Him, He saves us, helps us feel His love and brings us hope. His role in our life is to save us and provide an example for us (John 10:10). “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy, but I have come that they may have life, life in all its fullness.” He comes by without condemning but standing alongside of and affirming the dignity of every person. He says to us, “You are my body, you are my child and I love you no matter what.” That is the Jesus I serve.

‘Jesus is my ever present help in times of need’
Jesus loves me so much and is the source of my salvation (John 3:16). Jesus is my ever present help in times of need, want or confusion (Luke 11:9,10). Jesus gives me assurance and keeps me away from worry (Matthew 6:25-34).

‘Jesus is my best friend, He doesn’t hate me for my mistakes’
Jesus is my best friend. He doesn’t hate me for my mistakes, He never leaves my side even if I do. He is everything to me and worthy of all my praise. In John 14:6 Jesus says, I am the way, the truth and the life. My best friend is the light of the world. At the darkest days of my life, He lighted up my ways. Jesus is my Day star (2 Peter 1:19). He called me His friend (John 15:15). Jesus is my healer. My comforter. My pillar. My unchanging Lord (Mal.3:6). He gives me everlasting joy, and He forgives me my sin. He died and rose for my justification. He showed me love, mercy and compassion. My best friend is Jesus.

‘He is my Hero; He is someone to look up to’
Jesus is my Lord and personal Saviour. He died for my sins and rose from the dead for my justification, thus, I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live for myself but Christ lives in me. In Ephesians 3:17, it is written, “Then Christ will make his home in your heart as you trust in him.” My root will grow down into God’s love and keep me strong. Jesus to me is the all in all, a pure man without sin. He is someone to look up to, He is my Hero. Jesus is my beginning and my end, my Alpha and Omega, the best friend anyone can ever have.

‘He is the second person in the Blessed Trinity which is God the son’
Jesus is the son of God, who died on the Cross of Calvary for our sins, and to redeem mankind. He is equal with God and with authority from his Father (John 5:18). He is the word of God made flesh (John 1:14). He is true God and true man. He is the second person in the Blessed Trinity which is God the son.
