Jesus is unique to the Christendom and He is everything to the Church. According to the book of Colossians 3: 11, “Christ is All and in All”, same book of the Bible in 1:15-17 also states,” The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in Him all things were created: Things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” What makes Jesus different to you? BETTY AMUKPO asks, some children respond thus:
‘Christ alone was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin’
Jesus is so different to me because Christ alone was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. From the book of Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel”. God created Jesus with a sign which he was given birth to by Virgin Mary and nobody in the world has ever been given birth to like that.

‘Jesus never sinned’
Jesus never sinned, 1 Peter 2:22: “Committed no sin”; 1 John 3:5: “In Him no sin”; 2 Cor. 5:21: “He knew no sin”; Hebrew 4:15: “Yet without sin”; John 15:10: ”Has kept His Father’s commandments”; 1 Peter 1:18,19: “Without blemish or defect”; Luke 23:46”: A perfect sinless sacrifice”; Luke 3 :22: “Beloved son in whom I am well pleased”; Hebrew 9, 13 and 14: “Unblemished to God”; Hebrew 26 :27: “Innocent, undefiled and separated from sinners”; John 8:46: “Which of you convicts me of sin”.

‘Jesus is unique in His impact’
Jesus is different from other religious leaders. In His teachings, He spoke with authority that astonished His audience (Matthew 7:29). His teachings included parables, prophecies, and poetry (such as the Beatitudes in Matthew 5). Further, He could speak with the religious leaders of His day while also connecting with the common people. Jesus is unique in His impact. More than two billion people claim to follow the teachings of Christianity. Within 300 years, Christianity grew from Jesus and a few followers to become the religion of the Roman Empire. Though early followers were often persecuted or put to death for their beliefs, the Christian faith spread with unstoppable power. Vast numbers of hospitals, schools, orphanages, and other works to help people have been started by those who follow His teachings.

‘Jesus Christ has laid a perfect example of humility for me to follow’
The attitude we should have is the one that Christ Jesus had, humility! Who though being divine in nature, did not claim equality with God, but emptied himself. Phil. 2:5-6. Jesus Christ has laid a perfect example of humility for me to follow. He left His Glorious throne and to die for my sake really makes Jesus so different for me. Also, in Mark 10:14, “Let the children come to me and do not stop them, for such as these that the kingdom of God belongs”. Jesus Christ received and welcomed me into His arms. That is, I have found a friend and love of a father in Jesus. Lord Jesus, help me to be like you, teach me to do all things well.

‘The way maker’
Jesus is the begotten son of God who died for me to gain salvation. “The way maker” as my mum calls him (Ex. 14). In December 2022, my family wanted to travel home (village) because it’s been long we travelled but we didn’t have enough money. We kept praying that God will provide. On the 20th of December, my dad made some gains .We travelled on the 23rd with Jesus Cares bus. I was very happy that Jesus made a way for all our family members that came home, and went back safely. I also realised that God answers prayers when a need is sincere. As He answered Hannah in 1 Samuel 1:17-20 and Peter who toiled all night and got no fish in Luke 5:3-7. In short we should never give up on God.

‘He helps us change our lives, face our trials, and move forward with faith’
Jesus is different to me, He helps us change our lives, face our trials, and move forward with faith as we journey back to Him and His Father. That’s why in John 10:28-30 says “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, who gave them to me, is greater than all; Therefore Jesus Christ is different to me because no matter what, no man other than Jesus knows my future and can keep it, than my Father, Jesus Christ.

‘Jesus is a Supreme Being who sees and knows all things’
Jesus is the Son of God. Jesus is a Supreme Being who sees and knows all things. John 1:14 states: “The word became flesh, and He dwelt among us, we have seen His glory, the glory of the One and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth”.

‘He alone died for my sins’
Jesus is so different to me because He alone died for my sins. He also promised me in Matt 7.7, “Ask, it shall be given unto you; seek, and you shall find; knock and the door shall be opened unto you”. This is why Jesus is so different to me.

‘His atonement, teachings, hope, and peace’
Jesus is different to me through His atonement, teachings, hope, and peace. That’s why John 10:28-30 says, “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them to me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and my Father are one.
