“As a Church, we will continue to advocate for the protection of the sanctity of human life as is stated in the word of God. No amount of money or world treasure can be equated with one single human life, hence all men and women of goodwill all over the world must join hands to ensure that the sanctity and dignity of the human life is protected at all times. For us, abortion, which is the deliberate killing of little ones in the womb, is a direct attack on innocent human life. It is a serious injustice, which no one should have a right to commit.” If the womb of the mother is not safe…..nowhere is safe. We are called to a special mission; mission to those who have engaged in abortion which is murder. The Church only seeks the goodness of women; hence it teaches the authentic truth that abortion is murder. The Church doesn’t condemn the women who have committed abortion, but the Church condemns the sin. We are totally against using abortion as a form of birth control either by government, individuals, or group.”
• Most Rev. (Dr.) Alfred Adewale Martins , Archbishop of the Metropolitean See of Lagos
