…Cultivate a faith that does not tire
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, today’s Gospel reminds us of a truth that is both simple and profound — we must always pray and never give up. Jesus presents to us the image of a persistent widow who, despite facing an unjust judge, refuses to be silenced until she obtains justice. Her perseverance becomes a model of faith and trust in God’s unfailing justice and mercy. In our Nigerian society today, this message speaks powerfully to our lived realities.
Many of our people, like the widow in the parable, struggle daily against systems that seem indifferent to their suffering — corruption, insecurity, unemployment, and the rising cost of living. Sometimes it feels as though justice is delayed or denied, and our prayers seem unheard. Yet, Jesus assures us that God hears the cry of His people. He may seem silent for a time, but His silence is never indifference. He acts in His own time, and His justice never fails.
