Veritas University of Nigeria, Abuja (VUNA), Catholic owned citadel of knowledge, in a landmark development, has secured approval from the Nigeria University Commission (NUC) for the running of Medicine and Surgery programme in the institution. In an approval letter dated November 3, 2023, and signed by Abubakar Girei, Acting Director of Academic Planning on behalf of the Acting Executive Secretary, the programme is set to begin full operation in the 2024 academic session.
The letter read in parts; “I am directed to inform the Vice-Chancellor that the Ag. Executive Secretary has considered and approved the establishment of the full-time mode of the following undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, to be run in the Main Campus of the University with effect from 2023/2024 academic session.
In an interview with CSN Media, Rev. Fr. (Prof.) Hyacinth Ichoku, Vice Chancellor of the University, expressed his delight at the development, stating that it is a significant milestone for the institution. Fr. Ichoku noted that the approval of these additional courses by the NUC is a testament to the university’s growth, as well as a great source of encouragement to the academic community. Veritas University was established in 2007 and has since inception, grown to become a reputable academic citadel for character and learning.
