I \t was all choir affairs at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Aboru, Ipaja Deanery of the Archdiocese of Lagos, Saturday, November 6 during the solemnization of the Holy Matrimony between Choirmistress, Patricia Ebele Oreemeka and Choirmaster General of the Ipaja Deanery Choir and Lagos Archdiocesan Deputy Director 1 Music, Victor Adeyemi Kusimo. The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. (Dr.) Daniel Nwankwo was on hand as the chief celebrant joined on the altar by Rev. Fr. Dare Ogunleye, Associate Priest; Rev. Fr. Paul from Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Baruwa, Ipaja Deanery and Rev. Fr. Phillip Kusimo, the younger brother of the bridegroom from the Catholic Diocese of Enugu in a concelebrated Mass that attracted choristers from various parishes of the deanery.
In his homily occasionally laden with humour, Fr. Nwankwo emphasized on love between the couple, noting that understanding between them is very essential. He enumerated love as kind, patient, not arrogant but forgiving. The homilist counseled the husband to take care of his wife as he loves himself and called on the wife to reciprocate the good gesture of her husband. Couple, should mind their words while in the public, especially with kids around. Warning the husband to stay away from strange women, Fr. Nwankwo called on the wife to report to the appropriate person when the husband seems to be failing. Highlight of the wedding ceremony was the induction of the choir mistress, Patricia Kusimo as a member of the Catholic Women Organization (C.W.O.N) by the Chapter’s Chairperson, Mrs. Osigwe.
