Administrator, St. Gregory’s College, Obalende, Lagos, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Ayeni has admonished Catholics not to distance themselves from the Blessed Virgin Mary, but to always take their intentions to her, to present to Jesus, her Son, as she did at the wedding feast in Cana. Fr. Ayeni gave this admonishment while delivering his homily during Mass held on January 31, 2021, to bless the Grotto dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, under the title of “Mary Undoer of Knots” at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Idumagbo, Lagos. Fr. Ayeni who represented Most Rev. (Dr.) Alfred Martins, Catholic Archbishop of Lagos, threw more light on the powerful intercessory role of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the spiritual lives of her people. He said: “Our Mother Mary is always there for us spiritually, willing to intercede for us and take our petitions to her son our Lord Jesus.

We should go closer to her; we should always call on her to intercede on our behalf to her son, Jesus Christ. She continues to take our problems, our petitions to her son, as she did at the wedding feast in Cana” The Parish Priest and co-celebrant at Mass, Rev. Fr. Anthony Orioha expressed his gratitude to God Almighty for making his dream and that of the parishioners come through of having a Grotto in the parish in honour of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Patrick. He also thanked the Archbishop for his fatherly care always and his approval to erect the Grotto in the parish. He said: “We are grateful to God Almighty for making our dream come through of having a grotto in our parish in honour Of Our Lady and St Patrick. Our appreciation also goes to Fr. Ayeni for coming to celebrate with us and not refusing the assignment of the Archbishop to come around. “Special thanks to all those within the parish and outside the parish who assisted us to achieve the projects of the Marian Grotto, the renovation of the Church and Rev. Father’s House. May God bless you all and reward you abundantly Amen! May Our Mother Mary UNDOER of Knots… Pray for us.
