St. Patrick Catholic Church, Igbogila, Ipaja Deanery of the Archdiocese of Lagos on Saturday, October 10, 2021, flagged off the Catholic Men Organisation (C.M.O) in the parish and its outstations – St. Jude Catholic Church, Ashipa and the Church of the Archangels, Bada respectively. The Parish Priest, Very Rev. Fr. Lawrence Nwaneri, Cssp has set aside every second Saturday of the month for the C.M.O Mass as part of his sensitization efforts to further encourage all men to fully participate in the liturgical activities of the parish.
Drawing his homily from the Gospel reading of the day, Luke 11, 27-28, the Parish Priest opined that the woman appreciated God in Mary for training Jesus Christ in her own way. He charged the men as the heads of the family to train and bring up their children in the way of God so that they can grow up and become good citizens. Addressing the members present, the Parish C.M.O Chairman, Dr. John Julius thanked them for attending the maiden edition of the C.M.O Mass. He observed that the turn-out was very encouraging and appealed to them to keep it up. Dr. Julius recognized in a special way the presence of the members from the two outstations, promising to continue to mobilize men for a larger turn-out at subsequent masses.
