• As Father’s Day is celebrated in fanfare

As a spiritual activities geared towards the preparation for Father’s Day Celebrations, the Catholic Men Organization (CMO) of St. Denis Catholic Church, Akoka held a four days family retreat in the Parish tagged Family Liberation. The Retreat which had fun filled spiritual activities for three days also had physical fitness exercise on the forth day with various activities lined up such as praise worship, exposition of the blessed Sacrament and intercessory prayers intentions for the families. The retreat master, Very Rev. Fr. Theodore Martinos who also doubles as the parish priest of St. Denis parish, in his reflections centered on many soul touching and mind buggling Biblical lessons such as the story of Joseph the spouse of Mary and father of Jesus in so many instances that he had to obey the voice of God spiritually. Even as being the Holy family to emulate by every family. This, the erudite priest retreat master sounded a clarion call to all Christians family to take heed and embrace as families seeking true liberation. Highlights of the family liberation retreat climaxed in grand style the celebration of Father’s Day on Sunday, June 20 to the overwhelming participation of parishioners from all walks of life, irrespective of tribe. In his homily at the grand finale Holy Mass of the ceremony which rounded off the retreat on Father’s Day cermony, the parish priest averred that all men should emulate the life of Joseph and every Christian family to learn the virtues of the Holy Family. He further admonished Christians family on spiritual virtues to attain spirit filled family. After the Holy mass celebration, the train latter shifted to grand finale, reception in celebration of happy Father’s Day
