Shortly after the Palm Sunday Mass on March 28, 2021, members of the Catholic Men Organisation, St. Cyprian, OkoOba, Agege gathered at the Canaan hall to elect new officers to pilot the affairs of the body, following the dissolution of the executive council that has been in office for a little longer than the mandatory four years, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic that disrupted Church activities in 2020. One of the by-laws of the organization as approved by the Church’s hierarchy states that an elected executive can only serve for one term of four years after which a new executive council must be reconstituted to run the activities of the statutory organization. The exercise held under congenial atmosphere within the monthly general meeting received the blessing of the Parish priest, Very Rev. Fr. Richard Fasuyi and the Associate Parish priest, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Anyanwu who together prayed for the incoming executive to build on the structures put in place by the outgoing executive to take the Parish to greater height. Fr. Fasuyi thanked the Engr. Chidi Ekenedo (KSM) led executives for their selfless service and for maintaining the winning streak that had seen the Parish CMO carting home, back to back in 2018, 2019 the coveted laurels as the best organized CMO in the Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos.

In the election proper conducted by the Agege Deanery CMO electoral umpires and the Church Laity Council representatives, through the secret ballot, Engr. Dayo Olowokere was unanimously elected unopposed by voice vote, as Chairman, Joseph Asika and Fabian Okeke emerged as 1st Vice Chairman and 2nd Vice Chairman in that order in a keenly contested ballot. The post of Secretary fell on Pius Akor, Assistant Secretary, Patrick Olaleye. Others elected are Paschal Echile, Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Wilboard Nwosu to be assisted by Jonathan Balogun, Welfare Officers, John Soronnadi and Kingsley Abata, Provosts, David Asemigo and Peter Okafor while Princewill Okonkwo was returned as P.R.O. In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman, Engr. Olowokere promised to raise the bar and improve on the performance of his predecessor.
