… Says, “St. Mulumba Nigeria will continue to speak truth to power”
Sir (Dr.) Charles Mbelede, Worthy Supreme Knight, Order of the Knights of St. Mulumba Nigeria (KSM) has lauded the knights and Ladies of the Order for their active participation in the just ended Lenten activities. In his Easter message to the knights and Ladies, Mbelede said the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, remains the epi-centre of Christian belief and values, because it affirmed once more and for all times, Jesus Christ as the Messiah and the King of the Universe. While felicitating with the knights and ladies as well as their families, on the auspicious occasion of Easter, he said, “let me also commend you all for your active participation in all the Lenten activities: Retreats, Charities, Pilgrimages etc. as reflected in the various KSM/ LSM Platforms. “We all strove to re-enact the agony and crucifixion of Christ through Retreats, Fasting, Revivals, Prayers and acts of Charity and Piety as part of our Lenten mortifications in preparation to partake in the great Easter feast.

“Just as Jesus triumphed over death and gave us hope and a new lease of life, so too, will all of us continue to overcome the multifaceted challenges that might confront us and our families and collectively too as members of our honoured Order.” The supreme Knight implored the members of the Order of St. Mulumba, Nigeria to pray for the resolution of the problems bedeviling the nation. “Let us continue to pray fervently for our brothers and sisters in the flash points of Nigeria. We intercede for our country to overcome its present challenges of insecurity, economic down turn, unemployment, corruption, labour problems and poor governance which have subjugated scores of Nigerians to abject poverty and defenselessness. He encouraged the Knights and Ladies to be hopeful.
“The blessings of Easter enjoin us and indeed all Christians to face the future with hope and confront such obstacles as primordial considerations for appointments, lack of fiscal federalism, lack of intellectual rigour and discipline in our citadels of learning, primitive acquisition of wealth by public officers and value distortions with prayers, that will turn things alright.”
Sir Mbelede called on the Knights and Ladies to be living examples of good Christian lives. He said, “The lessons of Easter impel us to live by examples and strive at all times to lighten the world by being homilies of sorts by our words and deeds.” The Supreme Knight however emphasised that the Order will continue to speak truth to power. In his exact words, “Let me assure all of you, that the Honoured Order of the Knights of St. Mulumba Nigeria will continue as part of its mission to speak truth to power. We will continue to call for good governance and accountability in our country.”
