Delegates of all political parties in Nigeria have been urged to reject the influence of money in their choice of party candidates, as they are called to shun those with hidden interests and vote for credible people. The charge was given by the Social Action Centre (SAC) Committee, a brain child of Catholic Action Nigeria Movement, Monday May 16, 2022, at a press conference held at the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, Abuja.

The committee urged the general public to visit www.catholicactionpolls.com, and vote for their preferred candidates. According to the committee, “after the end of the poll, we shall associate ourselves with the top winners who have the ability to find a real solution to our nation’s numerous challenges, and we will create a moral formation among Nigerians that will be an essential component for mass political mobilization in this country. Decrying failure of the government in securing the lives and properties of Nigerians, the committee added that the government does not have any defined possible solution to problems in the country.
They blamed the government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari for the poor handling of insecurity, adding that the administration’s reluctance to deal decisively with bandits and terrorist is quiet worrisome, despite strong evidence that suggest that the location of the criminals and their sponsors are known by the government. Calling on the President not to spare terrorists, bandits and kidnappers who threaten the country’s existence, the committee noted that Nigerians do not deserve what they are being subjected to by the current administration. The committee stated that the country needs a government who understands that the actions of the terrorists undermine and destabilize the country’s unity and who have the courage and political will to take them out, adding that it is up to the people to help rebuild the system of government that will set priorities.
SAC-Committee is a body of (technocrats) representatives from the Catholic Action Nigeria, Knights and Ladies of St. Mulumba, Knights and Ladies Auxiliary of St. John International, Catholic Women Organisation of Nigeria, and other lay organizations in the Church. The Committee is saddled with the responsibility of advising the lay faithful and members of the general public on the need to actively support anyone with positive political ideology in line with the Church’s teachings and the common good.
