I am from Edo State. I grew up
in the same area where Henri-
etta Alokha is from. Precisely
Osomegbe Quarters, Agenebode, Et-
sako East local government area of
Edo state. I have known the Alokha’s
way back in the 70’s.
Pa Alokha was a renowned teacher
who retired as a Head Master. He was
a devouted and practicing Catholic,
who shaped our (both his biological
children and other children around
him) lives in the ways of God and hu-
manity as children growing up in the
area where he lives. He was a father
figure to all who came across him in
Agenebode as a whole and precisely,
Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Agen-
ebode where he worshipped until he
passed on.
Ma Alokha was a devouted Catho-
lic, a good woman who supported her
husband and children until her death
in the 70’s.
Sr Henrietta has always been a big
sister to us who cares and loves every-
one around her, even before she joined
the Sister hood. Her journey into the
Sister hood was an act of providence.
Her exemplary and good virtues led
some of the young maidens in Agen-
ebode to join the Sister hood then in
the 90’s. Her love for humanity knows
no bounds. No wonder she did what
she did on that faithful day, 25th of
March, 2020. She was naturally a good
and humane person.
The Catholic Church and the Nigeria
government should immortalize her
in one way or the other.
