President of Diamond Soccer Academy, Umuahia, Prince Martins Apugo has tipped Super Eagles to have a smooth ride in the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers billed to kick off later this year. Apugo who spoke exclusively to Catholic Herald Sports noted that Nigeria could not have prayed for anything better given the group we landed in. “We got a very favorable draw. Yes, some people would say there are no more minnows in African football, but truth be told we should be able to over run countries like Liberia, Central African Republic and Cape Verde with ease. I see the Eagles having a smooth ride,” Apugo said. Apugo whose Academy produced the duo of Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze however urged the nation’s soccer governing body, NFF to ensure the Eagles prepare adequately for every game as taking any of the games for granted could boomerang. “The NFF should not take anything for granted. We need to prepare well for every match…that way the Eagles would win the group and forge ahead in the qualification series.” Apugo said his Academy would next week begin a screening exercise for young and talented players insisting that the Academy would always go for the best. “In Diamond Academy, we go for the very best and we strive for excellence,” he said.
