The Petra Microfinance Bank Plc (PMFB) recently held its 14th Annual General Meeting at the Pastor’s Conference Room, at St. Dominic Catholic Church, Yaba, Lagos. PMFB is a Catholic Bank of Lagos Archdiocese, founded by the Order of Preachers (The Dominicans) in 2008, with the primary objective of empowering the economically active poor, groom small scale businesses to greater heights, thereby creating employments, job opportunities and alleviating poverty.
In the last 15 years, the bank has recorded outstanding success stories not only in poverty alleviation through empowerment of the lower scale business activities, but also in supporting upcoming and big parishes in the Archdiocese via granting loans for projects both in the short and long terms. The bank having surpassed the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) required capital requirements is poised to engender more growth and development within the Archdiocese and beyond.
