Very Rev. Fr. Lawrence Nwaneri; Cssp, Parish Priest of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Igbogila, Ipaja Deanery of the Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos in the company of his Associate Priest, Rev. Fr. Joachim Erahbor SDV, recently received in audience a handful of members of the Parish Catholic Men Organization who paid him a goodwill visit as part of their activities to mark the 2020 Christmas Season, led by the chapter’s Chairman, Dr. John Julius. Dr. Julius thanked the Parish Priest for granting the organization audience despite his tight schedule explaining further the motive behind the visit and congratulated him on the success recorded in the parish for his peaceful co-existence with the parishioners since he arrived, 1st March, 2019. It was not all talk, as the members went into rendition of Christmas carols to express their joy for the gift of the saviour Lord Jesus Christ to the world over two thousand years ago. During an interactive session, Dr. Julius used the occasion to solicit the cooperation of the Parish Priest on the nonchalant attitude of some men in the parish in joining the organization noting that they constitute a clog in the wheel of the organization.

Barrister ‘Lekan Famoroti, Chairman, Parish Laity Council and Sir Emeronye, Chairman, Parish Church Council lent their weight to the observation of the Chapter chairman of the C.M.O. In his response, Very Rev. Fr. Nwaneri advised the organization to embark on a subtle ground work, promising to impose strict measures on men who would not be able to produce evidence of the membership of the Pparish C.M.O. in the New Year. In his opinion, whether you belong to YCW or CYON, since you are a man and married in the Church, you automatically belong to the C.M.O likening the situation to that between the C.W.O.N and CCM. The men took their leave with the song “we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year”.
