As the Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos gets set to reopen its parishes and Mass Centres for worship next Sunday, the Laity Council has commenced the sensitization of its members on the need to stay safe. This was disclosed by the President of the Archdiocesan Laity Council, Mrs. Chizube Geraldine Igboanugo. According to her, the Council has already distributed 3,000 face masks and 2,000 hand sanitizers to help in making sure that Parishes observe the instruction on sanitizing their hands and covering of their noses. “We are not leaving any stone unturned to ensure that we adhere to all the guidelines stated by our Archbishop and the state government ahead of the opening of Churches next week. Aside from distributing face masks and hand sanitizers, we have also discussed with Deanery chairmen to ensure the active participation of Parish chairmen. They have been mandated to assist their Priests in every way possible. All these are designed to ensure that we comply with the guidelines laid out by the Lagos State Government,” she explained.
