Very sad event. The Atagas are
adjacent neighbours to my
parent( who have since relo-
cated from kaduna immediately this
incidence occured) wonderful family
who did a lot for that sleepy commu-
nity, the kidnappers came to that are
repeatedly day in day out for about
a week in numbers between 30-50
and started picking randomly people,
raping some and extorting money.
All these was reported but no secu-
rity response.
Ataga used his connections and got
armed MOPOLs of about 10-15 to
secure the community that must have
angered the kidnappers who then at-
tacked his house with the “gallant
mopols” taking off and his family ab-
ducted, he had started to put the ran-
som together when the death of the
wife came through( children are still
in captivity) the questions that begs
to answer is why the security agents
didn’t respond or quickly secure the
area when the attacks started?
There are two communities that are
about 2 kilometres apart, one is pre-
dominantly indigenous Hausa/fulani
settlement with rich people also and
not a single attack? Could the state be
involved in this systemic attacks,Juji
is now a ghost town as the residents
have moved out in droves .May her
soul rest in peace, a lovely and ac-
commodating woman
