…As lectors hold seminar

Christians have been asked to fulfil the commission of Jesus Christ to his apostles to go into the world and make disciples of all nations. The charge was given by Msgr. Paschal Nwaezekpu during a seminar on evangelization by St. Michael’s Catholic Church Ajaguro board of lectors held Saturday, May 7, 2022 at the Claret Hall, St Augustine Catholic Church, Mary Hills, Ikorodu, Lagos. Msgr. Nwaezekpu called on the Church and agents of God to rise up and fight for the kingdom of God which he said is the first commission of Jesus, as he added that Jesus himself was a missionary before he made a physical withdrawal from earth.

Quoting Matthew 12: 22- 28, he noted that the kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan are at war scripturally, noting that “The two kingdoms are opposite and are like parallel lines that can never meet. The chief modus operandi of the satanic kingdom are in the philosophy of Secular Humanis. “Secular humanism, often simply called humanism, is a philosophy, belief system or life stance that embraces human reason, secular ethics, and philosophical naturalism, while specifically rejecting religious dogma, supernaturalism, and superstition as the basis of morality and decision making.” He said this negates the philosophy of faith, a cardinal principal of those who are working for the propagation of the kingdom of God.

“We must not see before we believe that God exist”, he said. Speaking on Genesis chapter 11, the story of the building of the tower of Babel, he said: Man was created to glorify God. “The kingdom of darkness is characterized by selfishness and personal ego.” He disclosed that the Catholic Church derives its principles from three main sources namely; the scripture, the church tradition and the teaching of the Magisterium. According to him, “We must understand that the major aim of the satanic kingdom is to weaken and destroy the mission of God. Through their agents they mislead the people by inventing principles that counter the word of God. He said the media has been used negatively to propagate and disseminate information geared towards winning the war for Satan.

“Every friend of God should do everything possible to win the war for God”, he said. Fr. Basil Okoro, Dean of Ikorodu Denary, who was present on the occasion gave the opening remarks as the Chief Evangelizer.
