Lux Terra trains professionals and volunteers on psycho-trauma healing skills

Penultimate week, the Psycho-Spiritual Institute of Lux Terra Leadership Foundation hosted 75 participants to Basic Psycho-Trauma Healing Skills training for Professionals and Volunteers. The weeklong intensive course was aimed at equipping participants with basic knowledge, skills and tools to more effectively offer psychological first aid and facilitate the healing process of the ever increasingly number of traumatised persons in the Nigerian society, including victims of terrorist violence, sexual abuse, spousal abuse, rape, kidnapping and sundry criminality, as well as incessant tragedies and disasters. Among beneficiaries of the training were medical workers, social workers lawyers, and priests and religious (from Veritas University Abuja and CIWA Port Harcourt). The basic trauma healing training of Lux Terra was done in partnership with the Department of Psychology, Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
