Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Sustainable Development Goals (OSDG), Dr. Oreoluwa Finnih, in partnership with the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) and the Lagos State Government Safety Commission, has announced a summit, themed, “Building a Resilient and Sustainable Lagos.” In a media chat, she said the summit aims to promote sustainable development, environmental protection, and social responsibility in the state.
The event according to her will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, and exhibitions focused on five key areas such as government commitment to sustainability, showcasing strategic initiatives and policies that reflect the government’s dedication to sustainable development. Others are community engagement and inclusion, fostering social cohesion by ensuring equitable participation in sustainability efforts. It will also discuss ethical business practices, social impact, promoting fair labour standards and community engagement initiatives that drive positive social impacts.
Sustainable finance encouraging investments in projects that support the SDGs and integrate ESG criteria into financial decision-making, sustainable supply chains, building resilient networks that support responsible waste management, local sourcing, and ethical labour practices. Finnih said: “We stand at a crossroads, and our choices today will determine the Lagos of tomorrow.
