Lagos Archdiocese kick-starts Year of St Joseph, March 19

The Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos has announced the kickoff of activities for the year of St.Joseph in line with the Holy Father, Pope Francis’ proclamation of the “Year of Saint Joseph” beginning from 8th December 2020 to 8th December 2021. Part of the activities to mark the celebration of the Year of St. Joseph in our Archdiocese this month include inauguration of the Year of St. Joseph in Lagos Archdiocese on Friday, March 19, 2021 by 10am at Holy Cross Cathedral, Lagos. According to the organizers, attendance is strictly by invitation and restricted to representatives of Deaneries and Associations of the lay faithful. The Mass would, however, be broadcast live on Lumen Christi Television Network, DSTV Channel 350. The lay faithful are advised to visit the Altar of St. Joseph; individually or in groups, as Parishes and Deaneries are directed to organise visits to the designated altars of St. Joseph for veneration, and always taking cognisance of the COVID-19 regulations. The people are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity of obtaining a plenary indulgence during the course of this year. The plenary indulgence is available to all faithful who recite any approved prayer or act of piety in honour of St. Joseph on Wednesdays, (a day dedicated to the memory of the saint according to the Latin tradition), the 19th day of each month of the year, and in particular, 19th March 2021, being Feast of St. Joseph, Husband of Mary, on
