The Ladies of St. Mulumba (LSM), VGC Sub Council (Zone 3), have held a community engagement service at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Ikota, with a focus on adolescent health and well-being. The programme commenced with a Holy Mass, during which the Priest warmly acknowledged the presence of the Worthy Sisters and commended their commitment to service. As part of their outreach, the Ladies organised a health education session, specifically targeted at teenagers and adolescents between the ages of 10 and 15.

The session highlighted the importance of personal hygiene, particularly during puberty, and encouraged the young participants to make healthy lifestyle choices. In addition, the adolescents were educated on various health risks, and guided on how to maintain positive habits that promote overall well-being. The facilitators also underscored the value of open communication, urging the teenagers to speak freely with their parents and teachers, and to seek advice whenever they face challenges.
According to the organisers, the initiative was designed to provide young people with accurate, age-appropriate information and empower them to embrace healthier lives while strengthening family and community bonds. The engagement was described as a success, with both parishioners and participants commending the Ladies of St. Mulumba for their dedication to service and for addressing a crucial stage of youth development.
