The Order of the Knights of St. Mulumba (KSM) Nigeria has elected Sir (Dr.) Charles Mbelede as its new Supreme Knight (SK). Sir Mbelede, the immediate past Deputy Supreme Knight was elected at the Supreme meeting held on November 27, 2021 at Asaba, Delta State, Nigeria. The new SK pledged to lead the team by consolidating on the progress recorded under his predecessor, Sir Diamond Ovueraye, and promised to set the Order on a higher pedestal.
He said, “I must at this juncture, pay due respect to my predecessors in general and the immediate Past Supreme Knight Sir Diamond Ovueraye, KSM (The Ochukorovie of Agbara kingdom) for his leadership / participatory management style in particular and for the great work that each of them had done to bring our honoured Order to the height it has attained today. “Sixty-eight years after the establishment of KSM Nigeria, I salute you all Sirs, today, as I take my oath of office.
I make a commitment to continue to uphold the ideals for which the Order was established with deep sense of professionalism.” “Looking back at 68 years of KSM Nigeria, I feel a great sense of pride and accomplishment. KSM has grown into a well-respected Order within IACK family and the Church. Over the last four years, we im• Mbelede plemented tremendous changes. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone that made this possible.”
Reiterating the core values of the Order which includes working towards the welfare and spiritual development of members, working towards a high sense of order and discipline within the society and defending the Catholic faith amid a host of other fundamental guiding principles of KSM, Nigeria, Sir Mbelede projected, “In the upcoming years, KSM Nigeria will consolidate on our achievements over the last four years, while seeking to innovate in specific areas. We will continue to optimise our three Ts: Time, Treasure and Talent for the betterment of mankind.”
Also elected into the Supreme Executive team are Sir Emmanuel Onyejekwe, Deputy Supreme Knight; Sir Dan Egwu, Supreme Secretary; Sir Steve Adehi, Supreme Advocate; Sir Isaac Nwachukwu, Supreme Chancellor; Sir Patrick Ekwenta, Supreme Treasurer; and Sir Jude Nwabueze, Supreme Financial Secretary. Others include Sir David Ologun, Supreme Auditor; Sir Frank Odafen, Supreme Physician; Sir Leo Shekari, Supreme Warden; Sir Austin Mowah, Supreme PRO; and Sir George Eze, Supreme Assistant Secretary.
