The Knights of St. Mulumba (KSM), Lagos Metropolitan Council, has formally inducted 180 new members, comprising 90 new knights and their spouses in a solemn and spiritually charged ceremony held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Maryland, Lagos. The three-part event featured a Holy Mass, spiritual recollections, and the formal admission rites. The Lagos Metro Grand Knight, Sir Don Ezeh, led the proceedings alongside the Metro President, Lady Juliet Damian-Osuigwe. They were supported by members of the Metropolitan Executive Council, Sub-Council Grand Knights, and Presidents. The Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Kenneth Mereh, Assistant Metro Chaplain, with concelebrants Rev. Fr. Augustine Anagboso, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Avoseh, and Rev. Fr. Paul Okoobi.

In his homily, Rev. Fr. Mereh reflected on the day’s first reading from Acts 14:44–52, highlighting Christ’s directive to His apostles: “I have set you to be a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the uttermost parts of the earth.” He urged the new inductees to live out their mission by being beacons of light in their families, parishes, communities, and beyond. “You no longer have a hiding place,” he told the new knights, emphasizing that their spiritual journey must now be rooted in Scripture, the Catechism, regular prayer, and active participation in parish life.
He called on all members, new and old, to make a difference through charitable deeds and Christ-like conduct. Delivering his charge, Sir Don Ezeh congratulated the inductees and encouraged them to grow spiritually through regular Mass attendance, Eucharistic adoration, Bible study, and confession. He reminded them of their duty to uphold the tenets of the Order, support the Church, and be ready to invest their time, talents, and resources for the good of the faith. In her remarks, Lady Juliet Damian-Osuigwe emphasised the family-oriented nature of the Order.

She encouraged harmony within families, urging men to love their wives and women to respect their husbands. She also advised the new members to avoid gossip, remain prayerful, and make the Rosary a daily habit, in keeping with the Marian identity of the Order. With this latest induction, KSM Lagos Metropolitan Council now boasts of 1,424 knights and a nearly equal number of ladies, bringing its total membership to about 3,000.
