The Knights of the Order of St. Mulumba, Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos, have pledged to continue to work tirelessly for the advancement of God’s kingdom on earth by its total commitment to the Catholic Church. This was said by the Metro Grand Knight, Sir Williams Adebisi during a recent courtesy visit to the Archbishop on the occasion of his 61st Birthday Anniversary. Speaking at the occasion, Sir Adebisi who led a high level delegation of officers of the Order, eulogized the Shepherd on his various achievements and his leadership role in the Archdiocese and prayed that the Almighty God continues to bless him with wisdom and strength to serve in His vineyard.
Sir Adebisi disclosed that in response to COVID-19 pandemic, the Order has so far expended over N12,000,000 (twelve million Naira) in procurement of palliatives to the poor and the needy in the various parishes in our 26 Sub-councils in the Archdiocese. The palliatives, he said, were given to parishioners, priests, widows, including members of the Order who were in need. It also included prison inmates and Homes for the needy. According to him, an appreciation was also extended to the management of Lumen Christi Television for their commitment to providing spiritual succor during the pandemic through their coverage.
The Knights made further presentation of cheques for the training of priests and also gave food items including bags of rice, and cartons of indomie to the chancery. Responding, the Archbishop thanked the Knights for the good work they are doing and their response by providing palliatives to the needy during the COVID -19 pandemic.
