The Parish Priest of St. Monica Catholic Church, Igbogbo, Very Rev. Fr. Gasper Olanrewaju has described members of the Knights and Ladies of the Order of St. Mulumba, Nigeria as strong pillars of the Church who should be appreciated at all times for their great service for the benefit of humanity. He made this assertion recently as members of the Knights of St. Mulumba, Ikorodu Sub-Council stormed the Church in their numbers for a three-in-one thanksgiving in honour of two of their newly inducted members, the elevation of four members to the fourth degree, and the first anniversary of the new executives.

In his homily during the Mass, Fr. Olanrewaju, urged the Knights and Ladies not to relent on their charity activities which he noted has impacted the work of evangelism, describing them as men and women of integrity and true soldiers of Christ. Fr. Olanrewaju also debunked the insinuation by some that the Knights and Ladies of the Order of St. Mulumba are members of a secret society, stating that on the contrary, the Order was formed by the Late Fr. Abraham Ojefua to counter the activities of secret societies, and protect the Church at all times.

In his remark at the event, the Grand Knight of the Ikorodu Sub-Council, Sir Anthony Akinjayeju while affirming the remarks of the priest, reiterated that the main objectives of the Order in line with the objectives of its founding fathers are to protect and support the Church and assist the less privileged in the society. The newly admitted members of the Order include, Mr. Tony Agbugba, Communication Manager, Directorate of Social Communications, Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos, and his wife, Adline Agbugba. Pharmacist Joseph Oguagbaka and his wife, Victoria Ogbuagbaka. Sir Anthony Shola Akinjayeju was elevated to the position of fourth-degree member of the sub-council as the Grand Knight while Sir George Eimunjeze was elevated fourth-degree member of the sub-council as Deputy Grand Knight. Also elevated as fourth-degree members of the sub-council are Sir Pam Bot and Sir J. K. Ayodele.
