Taking a break from engagements with the country’s prison system (custodial services), human trafficking menace, combatting illicit drugs and good governance issues, the JDPC on Monday October 17, and Thursday October 20, 2022 finally embarked on the long cherished desire of feeding the poor across the Lagos metropolis. A hundred people were fed on Monday in Yaba, Lagos, while the food bank train moved within the Jibowu axis and ended up feeding deprived Nigerians in need of food and proper nutrition. It was both gratifying to come to the aid of the less privileged in such a practical and direct manner. At the same time, the state of hopelessness and want among so many people were evident, though elevating, that one’s little contribution was making a difference no matter how small. The ultimate objective is to feed as many as 500 people or more during each round of feeding the poor. JDPC is hoping to make this feed-the-people activity a tri-weekly affair.
