A lifejacket is a sleeveless jacket which helps one to float when he or she has fallen into deep water. It automatically turns the victim into a face-up position, keeping his or her mouth and nostrils clear of the water to prevent the risk of drowning. Likewise, Jesus is our life saver and lifejacket. Psalm 50:15 states, “And call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.” BETTY AMUKPO posed the question: Is Jesus your lifejacket? Some children responded thus:
‘Jesus is our lifejacket’
Through His sacrificial death on the Cross for our sins, Jesus has satisfied God’s righteous anger against us (1 John 1:7; 2:2; 4:10). By confessing that we believe that Jesus is the Son of God who came in the flesh to save us from our sins, we can be confident that we have eternal life (1 John 4:2, 13-15; 5:13). The Bible states, “God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Jesus is our lifejacket. God sent Him to earth to save us. Through His death and resurrection, we can be forgiven and have eternal life with God.

‘Jesus Christ is my lifejacket; He won’t let me drown’
Jesus my life preserver. Jesus is my spiritual life jacket, He provides salvation, hope and guidance in my time of need. He said in Matthew 11:26, “Come to me you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”. While Psalm 62:2 states, “He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress, I will never be shaken.” Just as life jacket keeps us afloat in turbulent water, Jesus provides spiritual support and guidance in our life’s challenges. Hebrews 6:19 states, Jesus is the anchor of our souls, firm and secure. Are you drowning in the storms of your life, feeling overwhelmed and weary? Reach out your hand to Jesus and ask for help, let God be your life jacket. To get into God’s life jacket, put your arms into the sleeves of prayer and tie the vest with biblical words. Jesus Christ is my life jacket; He won’t let me drown.

‘When the storms of life seem to weigh me down, I run to Jesus’
Jesus is my lifejacket! (Mark 4:39). In my daily challenges, when the storms of life seem to weigh me down, to whom should I run to: Jesus! Jesus is our lifejacket. God sent Him to earth to save us. Through His death and resurrection, we can be forgiven and have eternal life with God. All we have to do is believe and accept Jesus as our saviour. We will still face storms, but when we do, we will have our lifejacket-Jesus, our lifesaver. It is foolish to go out onto the water without a lifejacket, but it is even more foolish to try to sail the sea of life without Jesus! Put Him on…

‘Jesus Christ is the Saviour of the world’
Yes. Holy Bible states,”God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Jesus is our lifejacket. God sent Him to earth to save us. Through His death and resurrection, we can be forgiven and have eternal life with God. Jesus Christ is the Saviour of the world. As we come unto Him, He saves us, helps us feel His love, and brings us hope. His role is to save us and provide example for us. Jesus tells us that He is present where two or more people are gathered in prayer. He also tells us that what we do to our brothers and sisters, we do also to Him.

‘Jesus keeps us from sinking in the storms of life’
Yes, Jesus is our lifejacket. Just as a lifejacket keeps us afloat and prevents us from drowning in water, Jesus keeps us from sinking in the storms of life and gives us eternal life. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6). Just as a lifejacket is useless unless we put it on, we must accept Jesus by faith and receive the salvation He offers. “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16).

‘In the turbulence of life, I have Jesus as my lifejacket’
A lifejacket helps to protect someone against drowning in waters. In the turbulence of life, I have Jesus as my lijacket. Psalm 46:1 states: “The Lord is for us a refuge and strength, a helper in trouble.” Jesus being my lifejacket keeps me afloat in the ocean of life where there are tribulations of different kinds.

‘Just as a lifejacket keeps one afloat in turbulent waters, Jesus provides spiritual support and guidance’
Jesus is my lifejacket: my source of comfort, guidance, and salvation, much like a life jacket provides physical protection and support in water. Just as a lifejacket keeps one afloat and safe in turbulent waters, Jesus provides spiritual support and guidance through life’s challenges (Mark 4:39). Jesus was sent by God to save us from damnation (John 3:16). It is unwise to travel across water without a lifejacket, and it’s more unwise to journey through life without Jesus, the source of life and true lifejacket.

‘Jesus’ role in our lives is to save us’
Yes, Jesus is often seen as a life jacket because He provides salvation, protection, and guidance. In John 14:6, Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Additionally, Psalm 46:1 states, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” Jesus’ role in our lives is to save us and keep us safe, much like a lifejacket.

‘He is our refuge, our rock, our saviour and our guide’
Just as a lifejacket keeps a person afloat and safe in water, Jesus keeps us spiritually afloat and safe in the world filled with sin, darkness and uncertainty. He is our refuge, our rock, our saviour and our guide (Ps. 62:2), (Jn 14:6). Just as a lifejacket provides security and protection, Jesus provides spiritual security and protection from consequences of sin, and the darkness of the world. He is our hope, our comfort, and our eternal life jacket.
