It has become customary, and an annual event, as the Society of Infant Jesus, in a bid to raise children to know Jesus Christ played host to children and young adults on Sunday, August 29, 2022 at St. Cyprian Catholic Church, Oko-Oba, Agege, Lagos. The children who turned out in their large numbers, some of them under the close watch of their parents and guardians had enough to eat and drink while Very Rev. Fr. Richard Fasuyi, the Parish priest prayed for them, advising the children to imitate Jesus’ humility, live simple lifestyle, and show love to one another. In an interview with the Catholic Herald Newspaper, Mr. Ikechukwu Mac-Collins, President of Infant Jesus, St. Cyprian Catholic Church disclosed that the society not only feeds the children but uses the event which falls on the Children Harvest activities as platform to evangelise and bring the children and young adults closer to Jesus Christ because they are the future of the Church. He noted that this year’s event as usual, targeted over one thousand mouths to feed. The children were happy and said they look forward to the Christmas Season when they would again celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ with gift items from Infant Jesus society. This was corroborated by Mrs. Chinyere Abafo and Mr. Raphael Anyifua, Vice-President and Secretary of the Society in that order. The Society of Infant Jesus attracts large followership in the Parish, a development the devotees attributed to the miracles and healings received by those who faithfully pray through Infant Jesus in time of need.
