Mitt Romney has demonstrated
uncommon courage and we ought
to see his decision to vote against
the president of his party as daring.
He referred to his conscience and
constitution as superior to party
affiliation.
I am beginning to see deep inside
the heart of our crisis: the cour-
age to to do the right thing and
let consequences follow. Consid-
er the number of politicians who
are Christians and yet unable to
see anything condemnable in the
careful extermination of Chris-
tians. Perhaps they are waiting for
the priests to tell them what to do
or rather waiting for a bishop to be
kidnapped and beheaded before
they act. Acquittal is not exonera-
tion of the conscience.
Trump himself knows if President
Obama did one of the numerous
things he has done Obama would
not have lasted six months in the
White house. The truth is there
are a few honest men and women
in the world who are leaders and
that protecting your own matters
more in this age than trying to be
correct in all matters! So can we be-
gin to emphasize on what holds us
together and benefit us more? Pres-
ident Buhari is doing the same for
his faith and clan.
Do we have the governors and
senators who can stand for their
faith and conscience like Mitt Rom-
ney? Time to change the pattern
of play the rules of the game have
changed. Those who initially saw
the killings as a regional crisis have
discovered how their inactivity
made them ill-prepared ! Nigeria’s
crisis has reached a tipping point
even the senators have admitted,
what other examples do we need?
