jebu-Ode Catholic Diocese recently conducted the first public viewing of her Catholic museum of Art and History at the JDPC Centre in Ijebu-Ode. This exciting development was announced by Most Rev. Francis Obafemi Adesina; Bishop of the Diocese, who declared the museum ready for the reception of artifacts and archival items. Though there will be many more viewings before a formal opening ceremony, it remains a work in progress.
The museum’s location at the JDPC Centre is significant, as JDPC stands for Justice Development and Peace Commission, an organization that aims to promote human rights, good governance, and socioeconomic development in the diocese. Bishop Francis Obafemi Adesina has been the Shepherd of Ijebu-Ode Catholic Diocese since 2019. Under his guidance, the Diocese has continued to grow and thrive.
At this event he was joined by Bishop Leonard Lumembu Kasanda CICM, Very Rev. Fr. John Patrick Ngoyi CICM, and numerous Priests, Religious, and Lay people. The museum first public viewing ceremony was carried out in the context of the 40th priestly ordination anniversary ceremony of Very Rev. Fr. John Patrick Ngoyi CICM; Director of JDPC, in whose honour there was a public lecture and launch of his new book.
