June 11, 2020 was a day of joy for seven priests of the Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos as they celebrated their ninth priestly ordination anniversary in a low profile ceremony. The priests are: Rev. Frs. Lawrence Ayonote, Julian Egwuatu, Simon Okelezo, Sylvester Oladunjoye, Umole Fidelis, Peter Ayangbola and Kingsley Oritsheweyimi. However, due to the prevalence of COVID-19 which has drastically limited movements and engendered social distancing, only two of the celebrants were present at the Mass; Rev. Frs. Peter Ayangbola Priest in charge of Blessed Michael Iwene Tansi Magbon and Kingsley Oritsheweyimi Parish Priest Holy Redeemer Catholic Church Shibiri. At the private Mass held at Blessed Michael Iwene Tansi Catholic Church, Magbon, the homilist Rev. Fr. Michael, while congratulating them, urged them to understand the signs of the time and remain faithful to their vocation. Few parishioners were present in strict compliance with the COVID-19 guidelines. They included the PPC Vice Chairman, Engr. Adeoye, St. Lucy Ibiye, Laity Chairman Sir Gordian Mike Obinze (ksji) and Lady Liliane Obinze. Also present were Mr. Thomas Lawani, Ezinna victus Nwosu, Mr Amuh(Igwe), Mr Ikolo Mrs. Vera Chidi-aha, President of parish CWON. As part of the low-key celebration, there was a visit to Lady Atunike Foundation for the less privileged where gift items were presented to them by the priests.
