Fr. Richard William Thiele C.Ss.R dies

Redemptorist Vice Province of Nigeria has announced the passage of one of its priests, Rev. Fr. Richard William Thiele C.Ss.R. He died on Monday February 15, 2021, at the Dominican Hospital Ogungbade, Ibadan. He was 94 years. Fr Richard Thiele was born on September 17, 1927. He professed his first vows on August 1, 1949, had his perpetual vows on September 2, 1952. He was ordained to the Priesthood on July 29, 1954. Fr. Richard Thiele belongs to the Redemptorist Province of Thailand, but was originally from the Province of Oakland now Denver. Fr. Thiele worked in Thailand for 36 years as a missionary and has spent 29 years of his Priestly missionary life in Nigeria as Novice Director and as Spiritual Director to the Redemptorist students until his death. There will be a vigil Mass at the Redemptorist Spirituality Centre, Liguori House, Ibadan on Monday, 1st of March, 2021 by 5:00pm prompt. Burial Mass will take place at the Redemptorist Spirituality Centre, Liguori House, Ibadan on Tuesday, 2nd of March, 2021 by 10:00am
