Catholics, CWO Members in particular have been informed on the importance of anger control, so that anger does not lead them to commit sin, as they are advised that incensing their minds to anger and resentment is undesirable. The charge was given by Very Rev. Fr. Joe Ben Onyia, Dean of Ijede Deanery last Sunday, February 12, while delivering the homily during the formal induction of new members of Catholic Women Organisation, CWO of St. Monica Catholic Church and its outstations at the Church located in Igbogbo, Ikorodu, Lagos. Fr. Onyia reminded the women that by agreeing to be inducted, each one of them has accepted to be a model in the Church and society. ‘’Anger ruins relationships and every anger is a temptation of the devil. Ego is also the child of anger’’, he told the jubilant CWO members. In unison, the inductees numbering about 150 members, promised to lead a good Christian life and also be good Catholics. The Oath of Induction was administered on the women by Fr. Onyia, ably assisted by Very Rev. Fr. Olanrewaju Gasper, Parish Priest, St. Monica Catholic Church. Speaking in the same vein, Fr. Gasper expressed the need for Catholics to learn to control their anger. ‘’We must learn to manage and control our anger. Anger leads to sin; anger is an unconscious act. It is an urge and we should be a master of our urge. A believer and a Catholic must make the difference and be the salt of the world’’, he told the congregation.
