Fr Michael Umoh Appointed National Director

Michael Umoh has been ap-
pointed the National Director of So-
cial Communications of the Catholic

Secretariat of Nigeria.

This was announced by the out-go-
ing Director, Rev Fr Chris Anyanwu

in a formal release recently made pub-
lic.

“Part of the release read thus: “From
the 31st of March 2020, my tenure of

office as the Director of Social Com-
munications will expire. A new Direc-
tor has been appointed. He is Rev. Fr.

Michael Umoh of the Archdiocese of
Lagos…

The new Director would be pre-
sented to the Diocesan Directors of

Communications at their meeting
scheduled for Uyo diocese from the
23rd-26th March, 2020.
Rev. Fr. Mike Nsikak Umoh was
born on May 17, 1968 in Surulere,
Lagos and was ordained a priest on

December 13, 1992 for the Catho-
lic Archdiocese of Lagos. A former

Administrator of Holy Cross Cathe-

dral, Lagos, He was also one time
Director of the Lay Apostolate
Center and Chaplain to the Lagos

Archdiocesan Laity. He is a mem-
ber of the College of Consultors of

the Archdiocese of Lagos and pres-
ently a doctoral student of Media

and Communication studies at the

prestigious Center for Study of Af-
rican Culture and Communication

(CESACC) of the Catholic Institute

of West Africa (CIWA), Port Har-
court, Rivers State.

He is a media educator, a broad-
caster and a programme/music pro-
ducer. He is the initiator, builder

and Director of the media initiative

of the Catholic Archdiocese of La-
gos with the name Center for Media

Development (CMD).
