Fr. Irabor enrols 229 MCA children, invests patrons

Very Rev. Fr. Simon Irabor, Lagos Archdiocesan Director, Pontifical Missionary Society (P.M.S) and Parish Priest, Our Lady Queen of Nigeria Catholic Church, Clegg Street, Yaba, Lagos, on Sunday, December 5 performed the official enrolment of 229 M.C.A (Missionary Childhood Association), children and investiture of Patrons and patronesses at the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Igbogila, Ipaja Deanery of the Archdiocese of Lagos.

Assisted by Fr. Joachim Erhabor SDV, Parish Associate Priest in a concelebrated Mass, Fr. Irabor, hinged his homily on children imbibing the ways of God from birth, emphasizing that through Missionary Childhood Association, the children will be familiar with the Church prayers and the necessary moral teaching needed in life. Fr. Irabor charged the parents to pay attention to the needs of the children and spend more time with them to give them sense of belonging.

Commenting on the efforts of the Parish Priest, Very Rev.Fr Lawrence Nwaneri Cssp and his associate Rev.Fr. Joachim Erhabor SDY, who is also the Chaplain of the chapter’s M.C.A, the homilist expressed optimism for better future for the growth of the children of the MCA at the parish and pleaded for continuous care and attention for the children.

Performing the investiture of the patrons and patronesses, VATICAN News the Archdiocesan Director of Pontifical Missionary Society admonished them to be alive with their responsibility, be serviceable and committed to the uplifting of the parish’s M.C.A.

In all, about sixteen men and women of proven integrity were invested as patrons and patronesses. They are Pa. Robert and Mrs. Juliana Ughutevbe, JP, Sir Bernard and Lady Akinkuotu KSM, Engineer and Mrs. Ashamu, Mr. Isidore Okwudili Nwachukwu, Mrs. Aniwonnu, Engineer Daniel Igbanese, and Sir and Lady Ezewusi KSM. Others are Mrs. Ogbonna, Mrs. Pedro, Chief Jude Obiorah, Miss Mary Deke, Mrs. Iwundu, Mrs. Ogunmola, Lady Monueke, Mrs. Akinola and Mr. Ben Enosegbe.
