Catholic men have been advised to be impeccable in their attitude and imbibe the virtue of St. Joseph to build good families and nation. The charge was given by Rev. Fr. Matthias Iheonu, Parish Priest, St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, Ikorodu, Lagos, during the celebration of the feast day of St. Joseph, the Worker, organized recently by the Catholic Men Organization, CMO of the parish. Fr. Iheonu noted that once a society is able to have good families, the nation will grow and develop. Highlighting the importance of rest, the priest urged the people to take time out to relax and ease themselves from stress and also have sound sleep. According to him, “A Patron Saint is usually an icon given to us to love and to emulate the virtues and way of life. The life of Patron Saint, Joseph is a precept for Catholic Men Organization of Nigeria and worthy of emulation as core example of an ideal father. The CMO members came out in their number to celebrate their Patron Saint; St. Joseph. The annual event in principle and practice provide the opportunity to CMO to reflect and re-examine themselves as fathers at home, church and society/Organization that they belong to serve as a role model at every capacity.

Addressing the men on the occasion, with the theme “Good Governance and Critical masses involvement for Effective Nation Development”, Sir, (Engr.) George Eimunjeze, the CMO Parish President, delivering the speech of National President of CMON, said the mission of CMON is to make all men better citizens, fathers and husbands, Christians and pillar of church’s structure and contribute to friendly environment of common good based on Catholic faith social justice which will bring all men to the knowledge of God and heavenly kingdom. He urged the men to be more committed, dedicated and carry out their duties towards the growth of the Organization, adding that they desist from hypocritical and pull him down attitude.
