Every jubilee is a time of shared
joy with brethren and friends.
Most importantly, however, it is
a unique moment for thanksgiving to
God for his grace and blessings.
Thus, very recently, Rev Fr Marcelli-
nus Rebecca Igirigi, cmf, in the pres-
ence of many relatives, friends and
well-wishers, celebrated the Silver Ju-
bilee of his Priestly Ordination at the
beautifully superimposing Catholic
Church of Ascension, Murtala Mu-
hammed International Airport, Ikeja,
Lagos, Nigeria.
The Fr celebrant is a Missionary
Son of the Immaculate Heart of the
Blessed Virgin Mary, in other words,
a Claretian Missionary, having made his First Religious Profession in 1987 at the Novitiate Utonkon, Benue
State. He took his Perpetual Vows in
1992, and was ordained a deacon the
following year in 1993.
He was ordained a priest of the Holy
Roman Catholic Church in 1994, pre-
cisely, Saturday, July 09, at the magnif-
icent Assumpta Cathedral, Owerri by
Archbishop Anthony Obinna.
Fondly called Fr Rebecca (in hon-
our of the mother), the last born of
his mother in a family of six, he is a
veteran missionary who has served
in many parts of the country and be-
yond.
Fr. Igirigi is at present the Director
