Rev. Fr. Joachim Erahbor, SDV, Associate Priest, St. Patrick Catholic Church, Igbogila, Ipaja Deanery of the Archdiocese of Lagos, Friday, August 11, 2023 was appointed the new Co-ordinator of the Ayobo, Ipaja LCDA chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) at a well-attended grand finale of the Thanksgiving and Award Service at the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Igbogila. Fr. Erahbor now succeeds Primate (Dr.) A.A. Olaiya as the Coordinator Ayobo, Ipaja L.C.D.A chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria for the next five years. As a Guest Speaker and homilist, Fr. Erahbor delivered a sermon from the book of John, chapter 14: 17-23 themed “My peace I give to you”.
As part of the activities marking the grand finale were the investiture of Engrs. Peter Ashamu and E.T. Ogbu from the Catholic Church of the Archangels, Bada and St. Pius Catholic Church, Ayobo, respectively. Octogenarian, Pa Robert Ugwutevbe of the Catholic Church of the Archangels Bada, Ayobo was conferred patron, while Prince Oluwarotimi Akinniyi, Chairman, Ipaja Deanery of the Laity Council, St. Patrick Catholic Church, Igbogila was named as deserving personality. Also Mr. Pius Adekitan Shonubi, immediate past Chairman of St. Patrick Laity Council and Mrs. F. Babalola, Director of Youth, Women and Education, St. Pius Ayobo received awards for their dedication, unity of Christian churches and proclamation of the words of God within Ayobo-Ipaja L.C.D.A, respectively.
Prior to the grand finale on Thursday, August 10, 2023, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ayobo-Ipaja chapter organised a revival programme for all the Catholic faithful from St. Patrick Igbogila, Ss. Peter & Paul, Baruwa and the Church of Annunciation, Ishefun at St. Pius Catholic Church, Ayobo with some other few denominations in attendance. Until his recent appointment as the new Co-ordinator of Ayobo-Ipaja (CAN), Rev, Fr. Joachim Erahbor was the Youth Chaplain, Ayobo-Ipaja (CAN), and currently doubles as the Ipaja Deanery MCA Chaplain and St. Patrick Igbogila MCA and Youth Chaplain.
