The Parish Priest of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Isolo, Rev. Fr. Philip Egbuniwe OSJ and Knights of St. John International (KSJI) Isolo set out to re-build love and relationship in marriage among some separated and divorced couples of the Parish at the 2nd edition of Couples Cuddle programme held on Saturday, 13th and Sunday, 14th February, 2021 with the renewal of marital vows by the couples in all the Parish masses to mark Valentine’s Day. The Parish Priest expressed concern about the cases of separation and divorce being presented to him, and therefore enjoined couples of the parish to always celebrate their spouses without expecting perfection from each other while recognizing their respective mistakes and apologizing sincerely. The two Guest Speakers, Mrs. Ngozi Ekechukwu and Mr. Boniface Kalu outlined poor communication, infidelity, unforgiving spirit, inadequate prayer life, volcanic anger, inadequate quality time together, and lack of shared spiritual values as breakers of marriage. They also highlighted remembering early love they shared, forgiveness, appreciation, journey of faith, commitment, intimacy, art of forgiveness, rewarding each other, showing personal belief system ‘my marriage must work’, reconciling marriage and the beatitudes as well as the ten commandments of God as makers of good marriage.
