The death has occurred of Mr. Fortunatus Dawodu a veteran Journalist and former Vice President of Catholic Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria, CAMPAN, Lagos Archdiocese. Mr. Dawodu, according to family sources, died around 7.30pm on December 31st 2020 after a brief illness. He was aged 71. During his life time, the deceased was a devout Catholic and member of the Archdiocesan Planning Committee for the Marian shrine. He was a former staff of the Associated Press and Radio France and also a one-time Chief Press Secretary to the former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Mrs. Kofo Bucknor Akerele. Above all, Mr. Dawodu would be remembered for painstakingly producing and circulating papal messages for the World Day of Peace and World Day of Communication since the past twenty years. Funeral Mass will be held next Friday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Lafiaji. He would be interned at the Ikoyi Cemetery.
