FCT 2024: Ladies of St. Mulumba Nigeria holds 46th National Convention

The Ladies of St. Mulumba (LSM) Nigeria is set for its 46th Annual National Convention scheduled for November 6 to 9, 2024 at Top Rank Hotel Galaxy in Abuja, Nigeria.

The Convention will host the Supreme and Noble Executives, Metropolitan Presidents and their Executives as well as Sub-Council Presidents across the nine LSM Metropolitan Councils in constructive conversations on crucial responsibilities in quest to shaping a vibrant and pious future.

Themed, “Women taking responsibility for the future: The role of LSM as Christian Mothers,” the paper will be delivered by the Guest Speaker, Rev. Fr. George Ehusani, an accomplished theologian, preacher, social commentator and activist. The event will be held under the distinguished chairmanship of Sir (Dr.) Omo-Ehijele Frank Odafen KSM, Supreme Physician, Knights of St. Mulumba (KSM) Nigeria while the Special Guest of Honour is Sir Henry Bello SAN, KSM. Sir Mike Okiro CFR, former Inspector General of Police and Chief (Mrs.) Theodora Abhulimen will grace the occasion respectively as Father and Mother of the Day.

The Chief Host is Sir (Dr.) Charles Mbelede, Supreme Knight, KSM, Nigeria.

The convention will formally commence with Opening Mass to be celebrated by His Grace, Most Rev. Ignatius Kaigama, Archbishop of the Metropolitan See of Abuja on Friday, November 8, 2024 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Wuse, Abuja.

Speaking on the components of the 4-day Convention, the Noble President, LSM Nigeria, Lady Anthonia Ngozi Obah said, “The Convention will entail Paper Presentations, Panel Session, Touch Life One-on-One Presentations, Health Talks/Checks and Gala Nite/Award Presentations.

She further stated: “We have carefully selected professionals from different fields that bother on security, investments, parenting and healthy lifestyle for the panel session.

“The Touch Life One-on-One is LSM’s pivotal role in supporting Nigeria’s efforts to empower women and other indigent youths. Our strategic and funding interventions in female entrepreneurship is indeed fostering economic growth. Launched a year ago, our LSM national economic empowerment initiative undoubtedly has increased women’s economic population in the country, as it is not only strengthening families but also boosting the national economy.

“We have also contracted our members that are medical personnel to present health talks and conduct free medical consultations. There will be award presentations to those who have contributed immensely to the success of the association and the Church. It is a pack-full Convention.”

The panel discussants are eminent and erudite Nigerians with rich pedigrees of service to society. They include a security expert, Mr. Emma Alidu; Investment professional, Mr. Emeka Mbagha; medical specialist, Dr. Ijeoma Okoro and guidance and counselling guru. Prof. Med Ojji. The session will be moderated by a well-versed print media personality, Lady Neta Nwosu LSM.

The Noble officers led by the Noble President will pay courtesy visits to the new Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Michael Francis Crotty and Most Rev. (Dr.) Ignatius Kiagama, Archbishop of the Metropolitan See of Abuja.

To further promote national unity, foster awareness as well as respect for cultural diversity, the LSM metropolitan councils will present cultural dances depicting various Nigerian cultures at the convention.
