F
ormer Deputy Governor of Pla-
teau State and the ministerial
nominee, Dame Pauline Tallen
has called for prayers for the
President, instead of condemnation as he
confrnts the growing insecurity plague
confronting the nation now.
She made the call during a courtesy vis-
it of Abuja Archdiocesan Laity Council
(AALC) at her Abuja residence on July,
31 2019, to congratulate her of being en-
listed as one of the ministerial nominees.
She said the president needed the
prayers of every Nigerian for him to suc-
ceed in the task of addressing the prob-
lems facing the nation.
“I thank you all for coming. I cannot
do the job by my power so I need your
collective prayers. There are many tasks
ahead. I cannot imagine a country so
blessed as Nigeria can be so poor, youths
taking to crime. Please I am making an
appeal for you to always remember our
President in your prayers for he has been
doing much to put a stop to insecurity in
the nation. He needs supports to achieve
all”.
The Catholic group led by Council
President, Sir Charles Unaeze Uwonwa
congratulated her on behalf of the group
on the just concluded ministerial nomi-
nees’s screening with the Senate.
“We are here to congratulate and thank
God for on your recent appointment and
your success with the Senate screening.
Be a good ambassador of the Catholic
faith and never forget one of the issues
discussed at the Conference on 26th
January, 2019 on how you can use the
moral knowledge to contribute in the
nation building, so appointment is time-
ly especially at this particular time that
our country is facing serious security
challenges and disharmony. Our council
is here assuring you of our both physi-
cal and spiritual support whenever you
need each and, as you asked us, we will
continue praying for our President for
God to give him wisdom to confront the
challenges before him”, Uwonwa said.
At the end prayer were conducted for
her and Mother Mary maternal protec-
tion were invoked to guide her and con-
gratulatory card were given her.
