The Catholic Women Organization of Nigerian, FESTAC Deanery has donated the sum of N1, 251,500,00 to help support its members at the St Joseph Catholic Church who were victims of the pipeline explosion last March, 2020. Presenting the cheque to the Parish CWONLA President, Mrs. Ify Okoye, the Coordinator of FESTAC Deanery, Ezinne Uche Okeke, said the gesture was meant to support CWO members who were badly affected by the incident which claimed several lives and destroyed properties worth millions of naira. Recalling the effect of the tragic incident on CWO members, he said, “Our own Mrs. Elizabeth Uyamadu, the 1st Vice President of St Joseph Catholic Church CWO Abule Ado, lost her only son, her daughter-in-law and a niece in the inferno. A large number of others lost loved ones, goods, and properties in the unfortunate incident.”

According to Ezinne Uche Okeke, the organization has also extended a helping hand to the Parish Priest of St Joseph Catholic Church Abule Ado, Rev. Fr. Francis Ealefoh. She lauded the effort of the CWONLA President, Barrister (Chief) Mrs. Philomena Omorodion who personally supported them with the sum of Two Hundred Thousand (N200, 000) Naira only. She also appreciated the Deanery Chaplain Rev. Fr. Melvis Mayaki and the Archdiocesan Chaplain, Very Rev. Fr. Patrick Obayomi for their constant prayers and encouragement.
