In response to the fight against COVID- 19 pandemic, the Catholic Nurses Guild of Nigeria, Lagos Archdiocese have donated eleven cartons of two-litre anti viral germicidal instant hand sanitizer gel for use in the health facilities within the Archdiocese. The event took place recently at the Health/HIV AIDS Department, Church and Society Complex, 19 Maye Street, Yaba, Lagos. While presenting the items to the Archdiocesan Health Coordinator, Sr. Theresa Maris Afareha, EHJ, the President of the Guild, Mrs. Bola Mary Onwubiko expressed gratitude to God for His protection at this crucial time on all health-care workers who she referred to as front-liners that have been pushed to their limits and beyond, as they care for patients selflessly.
Speaking further, Onwubiko said, “As Catholic Nurses, this donation is a way of showing our support and solidarity with our active colleagues.” She further appreciated and encouraged the health department to keep up the good work, as she prayed for safety for all who have direct link to the facilities, a healing for those already infected, and internal rest to those who have died. While commending the Catholic Nurses Guild for its show of love and care to the health facilities, the staff noted that the government often forgets the faith based health Institutions. They also prayed to God to give the
