– Doles out N36 million life insurance claims
The Catholic Men Organization, Lagos Archdiocese recently celebrated Mass for the repose of the souls of 248 departed members drawn from the various Parishes in the Archdiocese. In his homily at the Mass which was held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Aboru, Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos, the Parish Priest and Chaplain of the CMO, Very Rev. Fr. Daniel Nwankwo, read out the names of the departed members at the beginning of the Mass and prayed for the repose of their souls. Fr. Nwankwo reminded all of the reality of death, urging them to dwell on the implications of the 248 widows that have been left behind by the death of the men in just one year. He advised the men to take issues of their health more seriously, not forgetting their spiritual lives.

Reflecting from the Parable of the Talents which was the Theme of the day’s reading, the Priest equally urged the women present to utilize their talents to keep the family together in order to lessen the burden on the men so they can last longer for the family. President of the Catholic Men Organization, Lagos Archdiocese, Barrister Vincent Otiono expressed serious concern about the high number of members who lost their lives in one single year. He promised to work harder with Salus Trust Health Insurance in order to assist members have access to good health care at affordable rates. He praised the Management of Mutual Benefit Assurance for their quick settlement of deceased member’s insurance claims. So far, about N36 million death claims has been paid out by Mutual Trust Assurance to the beneficiaries of the deceased CMO members.
